Founded in 600 BCE by Greek sailors from Phocaea, the Old Port and its historic neighbourhoods, the Byzantine-style Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde basilica, its sunny corniche facing the sea and its wild rocky inlets make it a city of great contrasts. Day 2: Sète

Located between the Mediterranean and the Étang de Thau, famous for its oysters, Sète is also known as the "Venice of the Languedoc" because of its network of canals.
